Catholic Police Clearance

Catholic Police Clearance

In accordance with the Children’s Protection Act, the Police Check Unit which is part of the Professional Standards Office of the Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide has been established for the processing of police clearances within the Catholic system.
It is the responsibility of all Catholic organisations, including Catholic Schools and Parishes, to ensure that all volunteers and contractors assisting at their premises have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Volunteers and contractors who do not have a current Catholic Police Clearance will be unable to perform their duties at Dominican School.

Requirements for Catholic Police Clearance
1.   Please note you do not need any further clearances, if you fall under the following category:

  •    SA Police (your badge must be presented)
  •    Australian Federal Police (your badge must be presented)
  •    Under 14.

2.   If you already have a WWCC clearance,  a copy will be sent to the Police Check unit for consideration and issue of the Catholic Police Clearance letter

3.   If none of the above categories apply to you, a Police Check Unit initiation request form will be completed at the Front Office. Your original 100 points of identification must be presented to the Front Office staff. The Police Check Unit initiation request form will then be emailed to the Catholic Police Check Unit.

An information sheet will be provided to you by the Front Office.

You will then receive an email from the Police Check Unit with a link to the WWCC Screening Unit. Please follow the steps provided to you in the "What do I need to do now" section.

Individuals will receive a clearance letter or card, with an expiry date of 5 years, directly from the Police Check Unit. This letter/card together with the volunteer induction checklist must be shown to the Front Office staff prior to commencement of volunteer duties.
